Register directly with the auction house running the sale. Open the auction on Auction Eagle and follow the link to its live catalogue, then create a bidding account with the house or its platform (such as BidSpirit) before the sale starts.

Most UK auction houses hold viewing days before the sale, either in person at the saleroom or through condition reports and photos online. Viewing times are listed in each auction's catalogue.

Payment is made directly to the auction house that ran the sale, usually by card or bank transfer within a few days of the auction. The invoice adds the buyer's premium and any fees to your hammer price — check the sale's terms for accepted methods and deadlines.

Collection and delivery are arranged with the auction house. Most offer in-person collection on set days, and many can recommend couriers or in-house postage for smaller lots. Collection deadlines and shipping options are listed in each sale's terms.

Auction sales are generally final, and lots are sold as seen. However, if a lot is significantly misdescribed, most UK auction houses will consider a return under their terms of sale — contact the house promptly and check the sale's conditions of business.
